My Work Space (and My Dream Work Space)

As it turns out, I do a lot of my blogging while in my work office, either on my lunch breaks or after closing time.  I've only got a laptop at home and no desk, and using the desktop computer at work makes a big difference.  It has been absolutely necessary, therefore, that I set up the space so it's relaxed, creative, and not too terribly professional.

Things for My Home

Caleb and I have been following Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace principles, and I am so proud that we are almost finished paying of one of our debts!  One of the things our personal financial counselor suggested was to celebrate once we reached one of our goals!

Caleb and I have decided that for each of the small loans we pay off, before we move that debt money on to help pay for the next debt, we're going to take one month to spend  that money on something for us.  In April, we're going to take the money we've been using each month to pay off our car to buy some home improvement things.

I won't be the only one making these decisions, and we should really buy another set of silverware and plates (we only have 4 of each thing), and more towels that match our color scheme, but here are my other, more fun ideas.

Something I've Always Liked: Moroccan Lanterns

One day I'd like to visit Morocco.  I have this vision of such new colors and smells and an entirely different ambiance from everything I've seen before.  Maybe I watched Alladin too many times growing up, but I imagine Morocco to be such an enchanting and invigorating place.
I think having some of lanterns like these is one way to bring home the magic.

Wedding Plans: Collecting Centerpieces

I've been collecting small vases, jars, and bottles for my wedding.  I'll put flowers and vines in them, and they will be beautiful.  I especially like the look of so many different glass pieces together.  I've been keeping my eyes out for especially pretty ones, but everything I see in the store is much more expensive than everything I've seen in yard sales.  Thankfully, June is Yard Sale Season!

Here's the loot I got for $1.35!

What a steal, right?  I was so excited!  These bottles look so neat, and their small size will be a great addition to the collection! I love that seasoning bottle set.  They look so great.

This little guy even came with something extra.

And this is the way the two middle school girls running the sale packaged the bottles for me.  In a Victoria's Secret bag.  Made me smile.

Caleb stopped by a yard sale last week, too, and he picked up 8+ jars and vases that will work perfectly for $3.  I'm starting to get a rush from getting a deal, and I find myself hunting for Yard Sale signs on the country roads I drive into town.
